We have an SX1012 that is used for R&D so it runs in an office environment. And it's extremely loud. It has 4 x 40mm fans that even at their lowest speed, make more noise than the rest of the rack combined (seriously, we measured it). At the highest speed ... well, we need to evac the office as it's almost as loud as the fire alarm.
Two questions:
1) how much power does the switch use? Seems to be in the 100W range.
2) any way to lower its noise level?
